What’s Up With Your Karma?

8 Jan

A couple years ago I saw a car with a bumper sticker on it, the bumper sticker was this…

I bring this up today because lately I have been thinking about karma. Like the other day while I was driving in my car alone, I thought out loud, ‘What if you came back in your next life as a stray cat?’ The thought sent chills down my spine because in my opinion, stray cats and cows have the WORST lives EVER. I actually stopped for a second to imagine my soul being in the body of a cold, starving, scared stray cat or a cow who is en route to slaughter. It brought tears to my eyes to be honest.

I do not claim a religion but I do own my Spirituality. I FIRMLY believe in karma, I see it taking foot everyday in my life. Ever since I was young I truly felt my life was nothing but a karmatic adventure. A constant push and pull, that would all stop when I finally decided to do the right thing. And once I did, I saw that my karma was beautiful and my life was blessed. Why? Because I stopped eating animals and chose to bond with the planet and it’s furry friends. I stopped contributing to the suffering of other souls and in turn, it freed my soul.

I am not trying to be dramatic, the lows I have seen are unfathomable to most but as I look back, maybe I was my own worst enemy? Maybe since I was causing so much suffering, it was only right the Universe gave it back to me? How could I just roll along in life failing to realize that I was putting dead bodies and dead souls into my LIVING body? Who knows, but I do know, I am glad it is over.

I am starting to think that there is a underlying reason as to why vegetarians just feel better and it is simply because their souls are not tortured by the food they eat. Everything we take into our bodies has it’s own energy. How can we expect positive energy to come from something that was abused and tortured while it was alive and is now being served to us, dead? It is impossible, it will never happen. Why do you think a diet heavy in meat kills? Karma much?

With all of this said, is it time for you to take a good look at your life, your pain and your karma?

Read This: The Thrive Diet: The Whole Food Way to Lose Weight, Reduce Stress, and Stay Healthy for Life.

28 Dec

If you are into eating a well rounded, plant based diet and if you are into being athletic then this book is for you. If you just want to learn how to eat a well balanced, vegan diet then this book is for you too. And for those of you who are into maximizing their athletic performance, pushing themselves physically and mentally, this book is for you. It is also a great read for people who are just being introduced to a vegan diet because this is the proper way to eat, in my humble.

Health, fitness, wellness, Mr. Brazier touches upon it all in ‘The Thrive Diet.’ Not so much a diet, more a lifestyle, this book is so packed with information, it is hard to put it down. Brendan Brazier, the author, is an amazing athlete in his own right. A former Ironman Triathlete, he is also an ultra marathon runner as well as the creator of the awesome plant based supplement line, Vega. So needless to say, this guy knows his stuff.

Nothing is really left unsaid in this book. There are over 100 recipes including exercise specific ones, a 12 week detailed eating plan and some full on teachings about the way nutrition works. He literally covers all bases of the healthy, active, vegan lifestyle making it very easy for one to leave their meat laden diet behind, once and for all.

This Is What Happens When A Fashion Magazine Thinks They Should Dole Out Nutrition Advice.

2 Aug

I personally don’t read any fashion magazines anymore. Vogue had to go, too much entitlement between those pages, not to mention dead animals being sold for thousands of dollars. Lucky just didn’t do it for me, maybe I am not trendy enough and now Marie Claire is gone with the wind too. Bye Bye. Didn’t like them that much to begin with.

Why am I so upset? Simply because this fashion magazine has balls and I am over it. Why the felt to add their 2 cents about the vegan diet is beyond me. What did they say about it? Basically that it sucks, you will get fat and you will have no energy. Yeah, ok. Let’s go to Venus and Serena Williams and see what they have to say. Regardless, this article full of pure nonsense made it to the front page of Yahoo, so their piss poor advice and ‘research’ can and will be seen by the masses. Can’t we sue for slander or something πŸ˜‰

The issue truly is that the vegan diet and lifestyle are TAKING OVER and if you are not down with the movement, you are left in the cold, dead animals in hand and stomach. Then you feel guilty. So in return you take a couple of examples of people who didn’t thrive on a vegan diet and call it the ‘SCARY TRUTH’, get it published and spread it to the public. Who knows if those people even ate well? One can be vegan and live off Oreos, french fries and pasta, not healthy at all but that does not make the vegan diet itself unhealthy. It is the people who are unhealthy and who make unhealthy choices. Period. Funny how they did not even attempt to switch hit and show proponents of the vegan diet, to in turn publish a creditable, well-rounded piece of information. Instead we got an all out slander fest. Heavy on the assumptions light on the facts.

Maybe I should just ‘Get Over It’ and guess what? I already am. But as someone who stands for what they know is right and for what they believe is right, Marie Claire can Go. Pound. Salt. How 1 or 2 people having issues with the diet makes it bad for the masses is beyond me. Everyone I know on a veg diet is kicking ass and taking names. Plus they are slimmer, have less health issues and just look good, better and healthier then the rest. So you can run and tell that, Maire Claire.

Age Less, Live More. Take It From A Man Who Is Living Proof…

21 May

There are some people who absolutely fascinate me and Bernando LaPallo is on the top of that list. At the age of 111, almost 112, Mr. LaPallo has had many titles in life. From dad to grandpa from chef to author, Bernando LaPallo has led a life that is full, rich and strictly vegetarian. Bernando is believed to be the worlds oldest blogger, he wrote his first book at age 107 and he says he plans on living to 125. The craziest thing about Bernando is how YOUNG he looks, I would say he looks about 70-75 years old in the video below which is from 2010. It is hard to believe this man was born is 1901.

Mr. LaPallo has always known that his health and ability to stay both physically and mentally sharp are the most important things in life. He credits his longevity to his strict vegetarian diet and he says that there are 5 particular foods he believes have led the way to his 112 year on this planet. Chocolate, garlic, olive oil, cinnamon and honey are his 5 magic foods and he believes that his consumption of honey is the reason why he has never been sick a day in his life. At 111 he still takes care of himself and even makes rare but cherished and special appearances around the country to talk about his life and how he has managed to stick around so long πŸ™‚

I find it to be absolutely amazing that this man is 111 years old and he is all with it. I have never seen anything like it in my life, I know people who are 1/3 this man’s age who are worse off. His skin has no wrinkles and he does use olive oil on his skin everyday so take note to how well that has worked out for him. He also believes in exercising everyday, that is why he walks 1.5 miles every morning without the assistance of a walker. If Bernando LaPallo is not a true testament to how a healthy diet and regular exercise can help us achieve a long healthy life, than I don’t know who is.

You can learn more about Bernando and his life in his book, ‘Age Less, Live More’. You can buy it off his website which is linked below…
