Bold Organics Vegan Cheese Pizza.

29 Nov

I LOVE pizza. Adore it. But I have never loved or adored cheese. And now a days cheese does not like me either. So we have parted ways for the most part.

But frozen pizza is just so easy and I missed it. I tried many others but nothing ever really did it for me.

Until I was suggested Bold.

We have a winner.

Dairy free, egg free and gluten free. This pizza is also small and expensive but in the not-so-tasty world of frozen vegan pizza, it takes the cake.

The sauce is excellent, the crust is thin and the soy based cheese does not over take the rest of the pizza.

If you can find it, at least try it once, it’s worth every penny.

Stay Chizzle,

Laughing Giraffe Organics.

3 Feb

Every now and then I come across a really cool company, randomly. This weeks surprise was Laughing Giraffe Organics. Yum. Yum. Yum. Laughing Giraffe makes delicious, all natural, raw, vegan snacks that are packed with good for you ingredients. This is important because as we all know, we need to snack but snacking on empty calories does more harm then good. This is where companies like Laughing Giraffe come into play.

With sweet offerings like Snackroons and granola, Laughing Giraffe makes it easy to snack with no remorse. All of the ingredients they use to make their minimally processed snacks are all unprocessed, which means a little bit will go a long way. These are snacks that will actually fill you up, not cause you to over indulge on junk.

This is a small business run by people who love what they do. You can find their goodies in Whole Foods as well as random ass places like Marshall’s and T.J. Maxx. They also make it easy to order right off their website and you get free shipping when you buy 6 or more items.

Handcrafted, raw, vegan, gluten free and certified organic, all make it hard to go wrong with Laughing Giraffe Organics.

Garden Of Life Raw Protein Powder.

31 Dec

This stuff is GOOD. I go through plant-based protein powders like crazy over here and I must say this Garden of Life really surprised me with not only its ingredients list but it’s taste and mixability. The Beyond Organic Protein Formula that I used is made from raw organic sprouts and sprouted brown rice protein. With 17 grams per serving, this one is no slouch in that department either.

Not only is this stuff raw and organic, it is also dairy free, soy free, non-gmo vegan and gluten-free. The sprout protein it contains comes from Amaranth Sprouts, Quinoa Sprouts, Millet Sprouts, Buckwheat Sprouts, Garbanzo Bean Sprouts, Lentil Sprouts, Adzuki Bean Sprouts, Flax Seed Sprouts, Sunflower Seed Sprouts, Pumpkin Seed Sprouts, Chia Seed Sprouts and Sesame Seed Sprouts.

Since all of the ingredients have been allowed to sprout, the nutrition profile is super versatile and well-rounded. Not only high in protein, you are also getting Live Probiotics, Bioactive Enzymes, Glucomannan, Glutathione, Lipoic Acid, Essential Trace Minerals, Glutamine, CoQ10 to name a few. Those are all things we need to build lean muscle and some plant-based protein powders do not bring them to the table.

Add to all that good stuff that there is nothing artificial or preserved about Garden of Life Raw Protein. And as a company they buy 100% Certified Renewable Energy.

Good stuff all around ๐Ÿ™‚

The ‘World’s Best’ Veggie Burger By Hilary’s Eat Well.

15 Dec

The longer I am veg and the deeper I get into it, the more I become obsessed with ‘grain’ based veggie burgers. I never liked ground beef so something emulating that really does not do it for me these days. Those 2 things combined make my love for The ‘World’s Best ‘Veggie Burger even deeper.

With a base of millet and quinoa, rounded off with some sweet potato and spices, Hilary’s Eat Well has struck gold with their veggie burger recipe. It is a truly unique recipe that tastes unlike any other veggie burger I have sampled. Crunchy on the outside yet not hockey puck like on the inside, these burgers can be toasted in the toaster for about 3 minutes or pan fry for 6. A very quick and easy eat, if you ask me.

Clocking in at 200 calories, The ‘World’s Best’ Veggie Burger also offers up 4 grams of fiber, 4 grams of protein, as well as a good amount of both Iron and Vitamin A. These burgers are free of gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, nuts, yeast and corn making all major allergies a non-issue. Add to the fact they are Certified Vegan and Non Gmo Verified.

Now lastly, we must touch upon their packaging. They come in packs of 2, no box, no nonsense just a bio-degradable bag by EarthAware who we just happened to blog about last month. So we can round it up by saying, no meat, no mess and no trash, are all parts of The ‘World’s Best’ Veggie Burger ๐Ÿ˜‰

Brad’s Raw Leafy Kale.

10 Dec

There are kale chips and then there are Brad’s kale chips. That pretty much sums up how I feel about this product. Delicious. Delicious and Delicious. I could eat the whole package in one sitting if I was not paying attention. Not baked, nor fried, these little guys pack a punch of health and crunch and of course they are vegan ๐Ÿ˜‰

With crazy good flavors such as Natural Nacho and Nasty Hot, Brad has a kale chip for every palate. Gluten Free, Nut Free and all natural, Brad’s kale chips are dehydrated below 115 degrees to preserve all the natural goodness that kale has to offer. There is really no way one could not enjoy these chips, they are that good.

I have bought them at both Whole Foods and Kings so I can say for sure they sell them there. I was at Whole Foods Friday night and they were actually sampling these joints right in the front of the store. Go Brad!!!

Cool Cups.

25 Nov

Time for another round of vegan snacks, everyone knows how I love me some snacks ๐Ÿ™‚ This time around we are going to dish about Cool Cups. Cool Cups are the gelatin-free, all natural alternative to Jello and yes they are vegan. When it comes to flavors, they come in orange, peach/mango and black cherry.

Since 2008, Cool Cups has been churning out wiggly cups of fun with no animal ingredients. Instead of typical, nasty gelatin they use carrageenan, a sea plant that is both plentiful and renewable. Cool Cups are also gluten free, high in Vitamin C, fat free and made with non gmo ingredients. Add to all that, they are only 95 calories per cup.

As a jello kinnda chick, I can say with no hesitation that Cool Cups are THE BEST replacement for gelatin snacks. They have the same texture, a better taste and they do the trick. I was shocked as to how jello like these cups are.

So next time you are at Whole Foods or another specialty/health food store, keep your eyes peeled for Cool Cups.

Zen Chocolate Almond Pudding.

24 Oct

Pudding is an amazing thing. Pudding minus the dairy, even better. I knew I was going to love this pudding as soon as I saw it, how can chocolate and almond milk be bad? Dairy free, soy free and gluten free, Zen Chocolate Almond Pudding is also vegan, all natural, organic and Kosher. With only 110 calories per cup, it will also not break your waistline or diet plan.

And when you support companies like Zen you are usually supporting other noble causes. In this case it is Panda Bears. Zen uses a Panda in their logo so it is only fitting that they support wildlife organizations that are involved with Giant Pandas. 5% of Zen’s profits are donated to this cause. This is an important because Pandas are in danger of starvation. They eat so much, we build too much and destroy their habitats in the process. This combinationย  is causing a huge problem.

By eating some Zen pudding you are truly snaking with compassion ๐Ÿ™‚
