This past Christmas my boyfriend was gifted a bottle of White Rain 3-in-1, shampoo/body wash and conditioner mix. After being totally caught off guard by seeing ‘White Rain’ brand (old school much?), I immediately turned it over to see what we were working with ingredients wise. Nice ingredients with no parabens. To my surprise I also see, ‘Not Tested On Animals’ written on the bottom :)
As everyone knows, White Rain has been around FOREVER, 56 years to be exact . They claim they have NEVER tested on animals and NEVER use any animal ingredients, thus making White Rain a safe choice for vegetarians and vegans. All of their formulas start with purified water which is free from bacteria and chemicals and goes through a vigorous purification process. That is nice to know since the base of almost every body product is water. White Rain makes shampoo, conditioner, hair sprays, gels and body washes.
On top of being animal friendly, they are also Earth and community friendly. The provide jobs and job training, through employment agencies and rehabilitation therapies, for people who have disabilities or who are coming from broken home environments. As a company they say they like to help others rebuild their lives :) They also are a ‘No Waste’ company. They do very stringent forecasting projections so they are never left with much wasted product. Sometimes things are rejected or scrapped. What is left over is then sold to companies who can recycle the plastic and cardboard goods directly into new products.
Animal, People And Planet Friendly. At A Nice Price.

This Is The Face Scrub I Have Been Rockin. Smells AMAZING.
Well Freeman hopes that you are! Being the bath and body product junkie I am, I had to share my feelings about Freeman’s Feeling Beautiful line of bath and body products. Freeman is all vegan and uses some natural ingredients. I came to know about Freeman’s when I found this delicious Raspberry Gel facial cleaner on clearance at Harmon. Since it said ‘Not Tested On Animals’ and used a natural exfoliate, I bought 4 tubes. Beyond smelling AMAZING, the exfoliating beads are gently yet effective. The scrub leaves my face clean, smooth and very soft. Highly recommended. Gentle enough to use everyday, if you ‘over exfoliate’ like I do ;)
On top of facial scrubs, Freeman also offers a line off facial masks, moisturizers and cleansers. Their body lines include hand creams, foot creams and scrubs, shampoos, body washes and several other cool things. I can also attest to using their ‘Bare Feet’ foot scrub before, my feet stay needing assistance. 17 years of soccer and basketball plus 17 years (so far) of walking, running, dancing and bartending in the highest heels I can find, I have some sad feet. I think their foot scrubs are invigorating and smell nice. Plus Freeman’s products are all priced extremely fair and contain no animal ingredients :)
Tested On Friends And Family, Not Animals. That’s Beautiful.
I Love ALL Of St. Ives Products.
My bathroom is full of St. Ives products. They are my standard go to. They are my little black dress of the bath and beauty world. They are no fuss, no frills and easy to find. I can always find a bottle of St. Ives lotion and a facial scrub no matter where I am and that is how I like it. When people ask me what I want for a grab bag gift or for stocking stuffer, I always say ‘St. Ives something’ because I know I will use it and I know no animals were harmed in the process.
Even before I was aware of animal testing and animal by products I used St. Ives. I always thought their prices were fair and for me their body lotions always did the trick. As did their facial scrubs. Once I became vegan in my beauty and fashion routines I started to depend on St. Ives a little more. I now use most of their scrubs, their fresh skin face cleanser and their facial masks. I go through a bottle of body lotion every other week and I use their body wash twice a day. One with exfoliating beads and one to moisturize. Since I have been using strictly St. Ives on my skin I have never had an issue with dry, tight or flaking skin. Somehow I manage to stay supple without being a big grease ball. This is key. I also find that St. Ives lotions are not sticky on your body like lots of other brands are, I can actually get my jeans on after I moisturize with St. Ives ;)
On top of not testing on animals I find that St. Ives tends to use natural ingredients when they can. I notice that the ingredients in most of their body lotions are 100% natural. Their ingredients are approved by the FDA and The US Cosmetic Ingredient Review. All of St. Ives products are also dermatologist tested and are free of parabens and phthalates. Their new packaging in made from 20% post consumer products and all of their bottles and pumps can be recycled, by using recycled plastic they save about 50,000 pounds of material from going to landfills every year. That is A LOT of poundage they are keeping out of the landfills.
St. Ives offers a little bit of something for everyone. From their ‘Naturally Clear’ line which attacks blemishes, to their ‘Intensive Healing’ line which gives an extra dose of moisture for severely dry skin, every product delivers the quality one should expect from St. Ives. Since St. Ives is sold EVERYWHERE there is really no reason to use nasty animal tested on products with nasty animal by products in them. And with prices like theirs, you just cannot beat it ;)
A Compassionate St.
