Raw Revolution.

6 Nov

My latest adventure in food/protein bars are Raw Revolution bars. These whole food bars are raw, organic, vegan, peanut free, Kosher and gluten free. They offer up a nice dose of protein and fiber and surprisingly, they taste great. I say surprisingly because let’s be real, lots of food bars just taste NAST. Add the whole raw factor and many people will be turned off but honestly, 99% of the raw things I try are awesome so I am glad raw Revolution kept up with the other ‘Raw Jones’.

Raw Revolution was created by a Registered Nurse/Whole Foods Chef, Alice Benedetto. She wanted to offer an alternative to sugary junk food and other not so desirable treats that we all reach for when we are on the go. Mission Accomplished. I must say she did a great job at developing this product, she came up with tons of flavors such as; Almond Butter Cup, Coconut Delight and Heavenly Hazelnut Chocolate. Yum. Yum. Yum. I personally chomped away on the Coconut Delight and found myself with a mouthful of raw coconut. Which to me is like having a mouthful of heaven.

Here’s to a new revolution πŸ™‚

They sound great, but do you know if they use plastic packaging? I had a look at their website but couldn’t find any mention of the packaging so I tried to ask using their contact form but it wouldn’t accept it without a valid phone number (it doesn’t like my mobile number!!). I hope the packaging is natural/degradable because I’d like to try them. πŸ™‚

Unfortunately, yes there is plastic in the wrapper.
The good news is that they have recently re-done their packaging and are using less plastic but it is still plastic indeed.
And it sucks because plastic sucks.
Everyone needs to be using some recycled paper product for their wrappers!!!

Absolutely. Well, thanks for the info anyway. They should all get in touch with Plamil – they use either paper or degradable plastic wrappers πŸ™‚

You should email them and shoot them a link. They would be grateful I am sure. The whole reason they lessened their packaging at this time was due to customers advice, inquiries and complaints. I am going to look up Plamil and then blog about it now lol πŸ™‚
