As far as breaded faux chicken patties go, I think Boca brings the best to the table. These cholesterol free, vegan soy based patties have 11 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber in only 160 calories. They are also a pretty good source of iron. Easy to cook, they only take 12-14 minutes in the oven or in a skillet.
I know some people are very anti-mock-meats and I get it, I am not one to depend on them at all but let’s face it, they taste great and make an easy meal. And who needs a headache and stress about what to make on a Tuesday night? No one. Plus, people can tell me till they are blue in the face that processed soy is bad for me but I personally think there is nothing worse than eating meat and the proof is in the pudding with that one. Once people start dying from processed soy as they do from eating meat, then I may reevaluate, until then…Boca on. Plus Boca now carries another line made with non-gmo soy, so they are not playing games, they are taking it seriously.
These patties are defiantly kid approved and hold up very well on a bun with all the condiments. Boca Chik’n patties are also separate from the pack of other patties cuz they are vegan. Many of the mock burger/chicken patties are vegetarian not vegan, you will catch some egg whites in the batter ingredients. So next time you feel like a crunchy, tasty, breaded chicken patty, head to Target or A&P or wherever you shop and grab a box. Target has the best prices, FYI 😉
