DeCanto’s Best Burger.

I came across DeCanto’s Best Burgers in Whole Foods a few months back and have been meaning to share the 4-1-1 on them so here goes. This vegan, soy-free, gluten-free, all natural, sunflower seed based veggie burger is the ish. Wow. I had never had a burger that was sunflower seed based before and let me tell you, there is nothing quite like it. This veggie burger is ‘meaty’ in a big way and I don’t mean ‘tastes meaty’ because it certainly does not.

Packed with raw veggies like onions, carrots, zucchini and celery, this brown rice infused patty has 11 grams of protein, 5 grams of finer and 25 grams of fat. I know, 25 grams of fat sounds like a lot but remember its coming from the sunflower seeds so simply make this you nut/seed fat of the day. Plus its ‘good fat’ so no worries. It is also a good source of Vitamin A and Iron. This burgers cook up on the stove top in about 10 minutes, or you can microwave. I cannot vouch for taste or texture if you cook it the microwave way but on the stove top it is kick ass.
