To get the most out of your gym time do not do the following 10 things. This is not how I planned of starting this post but I guess my fingers just wanted to cut to the chase. So here you go, here are 10 of the most common mistakes I see people making at the gym everyday. These could be what is standing between the body you got and the one that you want πŸ˜‰

10 Mistakes You May Make At The Gym.

1- You Rush Through Your Reps.

No one is telling you to take it all types of slow but a normal, easy does it pace will get everything accomplished with proper form and less chance of injury.

2- You Do Cardio Before You Lift Weights.

Most common mistake ever. Always lift before cardio, lifting is more important than cardio and is also harder on the body than cardio. Your muscles need to be fresh if you want to have the best lifting session you can.

3- You Don’t Lift Weights.

Lifting weights is imperative in order to achieve muscle tone and long term weight loss. Cardio may help you lose a few pounds now but lifting weights will help you lose a few pounds forever.

4- Your Inconsistent.

The only way to get what you want is to stay on track and be focused. This also applies to your work outs. Showing up at the gym 2 days a week is simply not enough to achieve what most of us want. 4-5 days is more like it.

5- You Do 1000’s Of Sit Ups.

Face it, that 6 pack is not happening on crunches alone so no matter how many you can do, most of them will be in vein. You will not see those abs until your body fat is low enough to let them show. Just train abs as you would any other body part, no need to over do it.

6- You Don’t Lift Heavy Enough.

If you can do 30 reps of something then the weight is too light. Women who have had children I am talking to you. You can have a baby but don’t think you can lift more than 10lbs? Well you can, you are a lot stronger then you think, all of you.

7- You Rest Too Much, Too Often.

Keeping your heart rate up through out your work out is the best way to torch calories. This does not happen if you take breaks between every exercise. Move from one body part to the next and rest between sets, not reps for the best results.

8- You Don’t Refuel Properly.

This action may actually occur outside of the gym but it is directly tied to what goes down in the gym. To add lean muscle one must ingest some protein and carbs within 30 minutes of completing a work out. Think whey protein smoothie made with banana and berries.

9- You Do The Same Exercises All The Time.

No wonder your bored. Treat the gym as a play ground, there are many different ways to work out the same body part so snoop around, watch others in action and try something new. And trust me, no one is watching if you end up looking like a fool.

10- You Cling To The Cardio Equipment For Dear Life.

All you are doing is selling yourself short by gripping onto those machines. Let your core do the work, not your arms and hands and you will be on your way to a tighter body in no time.
