XMittens.

When it comes to staying warm during the Winter months, keeping to ones vegan principles can be quite hard. Almost every hat I come across has some wool or animal fleece in it. Yuck. First off I really hate wool, it smells weird when it gets wet, it’s one of the most uncomfortable fabrics EVER and the process of removing the wool from the sheep can be down right cruel if you are dealing with handlers who don’t care. So since itchy wool hats are out of the question for me I had to seek an alternative and I found something really cool when I came across XMittens.

XMittens is the brainchild of Amber Coppings, all of her products are made in her studio in Pittsburgh, P.A. from eco-friendly, recycled and upcycled materials. She tries to source all of her textiles from the United States to keep her carbon foot print as small as possible. XMittens are made to be durable, unique and well-fitting, as well as planet, people and animal friendly. So next time you need some bundle up gear hit up XMittens on-line and order yourself some fingerless gloves, a scarf and a nice fleece hat then rock them righteously 😉
