Mar Y Sol.

2 Jul

Started in 2003 by Laurel Brandsetter, Mar Y Sol is an accessories company that works with artists in New York and artisans in Madagascar. All of their goods are hand-made in Madagascar using naturally sustained materials from the forests of Madagascar. By creating ‘Fair Trader’ partnerships with the artisans in Madagascar, Mar Y Sol helps to promote economic independent and natural conservation of their natural resources.

As the world gets ‘smaller’ it is so important to support brands and companies that support ‘Fair Trade’ partnerships. It is totally unfair to destroy these developing countries for their natural resources and leave them dry to fend for themselves. Everyone deserves fair pair, fair working conditions and the right to pursue economic independence, regardless of race, sex, creed or nationality. Companies like Mar Y Sol take the extra effort to assure everyone is happy, the customers, the workers and the planet.

Mar Y Sol offers beautiful bags from weekend and beach bags to clutches and day bags. They also have a line of home goods that includes throw pillows and floor cushions. Everything they make is beautiful and unique, some stuff is more muted in color and tone others are bright and vibrant. It is all so pretty. Mar Y Sol items are available all over the world from Japan to the USA. You can find them in store at Nordstrom, Lord And Taylor and Intermix.

Accessorize Ethically.
