Wheels Of Hope.

25 May

Wheels Of Hope are the animals at the Animal Care and Control shelters in NYC knights in shining armor all. It saddens me to say that the AC&C of NYC is still a kill shelter. Every dog or cat that goes into those shelters is sitting on Death Row from the second they enter the door. If any of you have even been to one of these shelters in NYC you know first hand just how awful they are. I am not saying that there are awful conditions at the shelters or that the animals are treated poorly because that is not the case from what I have seen all 5 times I have been to the shelters in Manhattan and Brooklyn. It is just awful knowing that most of those sad dogs and cats in those cages will be put to sleep for no good or real reason 😦

Last year alone, Wheels Of Hope transported 8,400 animals out of these kill shelters in NYC. Since 2005 they have transported over 25,000 animals to greener pastures. Sometimes these animals are adopted in the area but many times it requires a long haul to get these animals to places where they can be adopted.  Since we all know the price of gas is out of control, you must realize how hard it is for them to make this all happen, this is why donating to places like Wheels Of Hope does make a difference, they transport animals 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Wheels Of Hope is a recognized non for profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible. You can also donate items they need such as towels and pillows that will help make these  guys journeys to new beginnings a little more comfortable.
