Let's Face It, Lifting Weights Will Give You A Better Quality Of Life.

10 MORE Reasons To Start Lifting Weights:

1- You Will Live Longer. According to research done at the University of South Carolina, total body strength is linked to lower risks of death from cardiovascular disease and cancer. Other Scientists have found out that being strong during middle age is associated with ‘exceptional survival’, which means living to the age of 85 without developing any major disease.

2- You Will Handle Stress Better. Scientists have determined that the fittest people exhibited lower levels of stress hormones than those who are less fit. Another study showed that the blood pressure levels of people with the most muscle returned to normal faster then those with the least muscle, after being in a stressful situation.

3- You Will Have Stronger Bones. As we age our bone mass goes down the tubes, which increases our risk for breaks and fractures as we get older. Studies show that in just 16 weeks of weight training, peoples bone mass increased by 20% and they all showed elevated blood levels of osteocalcin, which is a marker for bone growth.

4- Your Clothes Will Fit Better. Between the ages of 30 and 50 we will lose about 10% of our body’s total muscle, even worse, it is mostly replaced with fat. Keep the fat at bay by lifting and see the benefits in your waist size. 1 pound of fat takes up 18% more space then 1 pound of muscle.

5- You Will Eat Better. Exercise helps your brain stick to the game plan. Research at the University Of Pittsburgh showed that those people who did not follow at three-hours-a-week exercise plan ate more then their 1500 calories a day allowed. Those who exercised made all around better diet decisions.

6- You Will Be Happier. Research shows, people who performed three weight training work outs for six months had significantly improved all over mood and had lower measures of anger.

7- You Will  Be More Productive. Research shows that workers were 15% more productive on days that they weight trained compared to days when they didn’t. On days the subjects worked out they finished 9 hours and 15 minutes of work in an 8 hour period.

8- You Will  Lose Almost 50% More Fat. Cardio has its place but it should not be your main source of calorie burning or working out. Dieters who do not lift weights lose 75% of their weight from fat and 25% from muscle. This is not good, you need to keep the muscle on so it can burn through the calories that you eat. Weight training protects your muscle and burns MORE fat.

9- You Will Get In Shape Faster. A study found that circuit training with weights raises your heart rate 15 beats per minute higher then if you ran at 60-70 percent of your max heart rate. Strength training with weights provides BOTH cardiovascular and strength benefits in less time but with better results.

10- You Will Burn More Calories. Even when you are sitting on the couch you will be burning calories if you lift weights. Lifting tears the muscles and they need energy to repair, this causes your metabolism to raise for almost 40 hours after you are d done lifting. This also burns more fat then just doing cardio alone. Doing a circuit of 8 moves in 8 minutes will burn about 170-200 calories, you have to run a 10 minute mile to get the same calorie burn.
