Olsen In The Haus.

Olsen Haus.

Elizabeth Olsen has got it going on. This pretty, blond, business savvy woman has been taking the vegan shoe scene by storm over the past couple of years. I have seen her shoes in SO MANY of the fashion mags that I read lately, she is truly making a name for herself in the fashion world. After working in the biz for many years and for many big names, she has now taken matters into her own hands and the results are wonderful.

Elizabeth has been a vegetarian/vegan for over 20 years, she is against the use of leather and fur in fashion and she is not afraid to tell you so. Her focus is to get people to see the truth, to help save the animal kingdom and in return help make us a better human race. Here is a woman who practices what she preaches all across the board and somewhere in between she manages to make some killer, eco friendly vegan kicks. Every aspect of Olsen Haus is eco friendly. From their recycled shoe boxes to their vegan paints and rubbers that they use on their shoes. Her shoes can be found in stores all across the globe from Boston to Japan.

Many people do not realize how much energy goes to waste producing leather products (besides the fact that an animal loses their life in some horrible way). Between shipping of the hides, tanning of the hides, feeding and cleaning of the animals it all adds up to an insane amount of money. There are a new breed of fashion designers like Elizabeth who are making this world one step in a vegan shoe at a time. Seeing this new trend is encouraging and I hope that you will all support compassionate, aware and eco conscious designers like Ms. Olsen.
